Two New Features October 06, 2009 Vincent Woo

Over the past month, we had the chance to observe real world usage patterns which helped guide us in our work. We continued with some minor bug fixes here and some interface tweaking there. But more importantly, armed with feedback and suggestions, we implemented two new features.

Before, a user might need to check several pages everyday for new bulletins. Now, users have the ability to subscribe to pages and gather relevant bulletins into a single feed. A beneficial side effect is that all student bulletins could coalesce into a single page for printing without the need to remove duplicate bulletins or other manual intervention.

The second new feature is for password protecting pages. A staff member can now give students or parents a password to view private content. This small change facilitates a larger variety of use cases and will nicely compliment the existing authorization options.

We hope that these features will make the system even more convenient to use.

Website Launch September 04, 2009 Vincent Woo

September has arrived and the new school year is about to begin. With that, we are launching Coahla: a school communication web application. Coahla was already in production for a secondary school for several years now but it has since been given an overhaul to strengthen existing features and support multiple schools.

Work is underway for the next milestone. For your convenience, you can track Coahla's growth on this website, through the RSS feed, or through Twitter.
